Support a Realistic Growth Strategy

The city’s proposed urban boundary expansion is based on outdated population projections. To ensure a more responsible and realistic plan for our community, ask City Officials & Elected Representatives to take the following actions:

  • Adopt Realistic Projections: Use the 2019 growth study, which projects a population of 146,300 by 2051, as the basis for the Official Plan.
  • Defer Proposed Extensions: Defer any proposed extensions to the urban boundary.
  • Protect Natural Spaces: Restore the associated “cut-outs” from the Natural Heritage Mapping.
